Hello,

maybe a flash problem?

See this:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps5187/products_system_message_guide_chapter09186a00801c842a.html

Error Message

%SYS-6-READ_BOOTFILE_SKIP : boot system [chars] command is skipped

Explanation   A configured boot system command is skipped. Either the system experienced a crash while loading this image in the most recent attempt, or the filename is not properly specified. Subsequent boot system commands will be tried. This specified image could have failed for a variety of reasons; for example, the image might contain a bad checksum.

Recommended Action   Replace the failed boot system image with a valid one.

Hi,

I've had this situation once, and just by deleting and reinstalling the IOS everything went fine (it was most probably a corrupted IOS with a bad checksum).

Hello Mohammed,

Somehow after 5 or 6 reboots. It started to work. I have no clue as to what was causing it not to work. Following is from " sh ver"

TORONTO2CE uptime is 2 minutes

System returned to ROM by reload at 11:59:32 UTC Mon Jun 4 2007

System image file is "slot0:c7200-js-mz.122-8.T.bin"

------------------------------------

From my config. i have the following

boot system flash slot0:c7200-js-mz.122-8.T.bin.

But there is one interesting thing. After couple of reboots. Under Slot0: I noticed that TYPE is changed from FFFFF to Unknown. I am checking cisco website to see what's the difference in FFFFF and unknow.

ORONTO2CE#sh slot0:

Hi Hassan,

If i were you i would go for formating the flash and then reinstall the IOS on the flash once again and then do a reload (but make sure that the internal bootflash has got a valid IOS in case you have power down while still uploading the IOS again on the flash after formating it).
