Cisco 3750 + RPS 675 Problems

Post by operative » Fri Jul 01, 2011 5:41 am

Hello guys,

i come here to ask for help on a kinda strange problem i have with 4 Cisco 3750 switches and a RPS 675.
The RPS has a failed FAN and stopped to work (FAN LED Amber + DC Outputs 1-4 Amber). We noticed that after one of the 4 connected switches stopped working. We decided to disconnect the RPS and let the switches run of off their own internal PSUs. If i'm not mistaken, a 3750 should boot up if it has power on either the RPS port or it's internal PSU. Now these don't... I understand the 675 can only power 1 switch at a time.
Funny thing is: show env all shows the RPS as faulted (we know that) but Power as ok.
Why can't i boot the switches with their internal PSUs?

w801#show env all
FAN is OK
TEMPERATURE is OK
POWER is OK
RPS is FAULTED

Thanks in advance,
Daniel
