NME-NAM's Specific Information

Post by Guest »

Hi, i'll apreciate some info about this:In order to have information about application layer traffic crossing a few routers (3 or 4 routers), we are considering the use of a centralized router with a NME-NAM installed in it; so, i need to know if i would be able to see traffic info such as, for example, bandwidth consumption of the kazaa application crossing a remote router (other router different than the one in which the NME-NAM is installed) sending NetFlow Data Exports (NDE) to the NME-NAM.Viewing the issue from another perspective, i know for sure (by the NME-NAM online documentation) that i'm able to see the local router's (where the NME-NAM is installed) kind of info we've been talking about, making use of the NBAR functionality; so, maybe a most concrete question would be: am i able to see remote routers's NBAR info through the local router's NME-NAM?.Thank you very much.

While you can export NetFlow data to remote NAMs (i.e. the NAMs act as collectors), the NAM only looks at NBAR data on interfaces on the local router or switch.
